- Turn on the gas and add hot water to the flour and mix with a ladle.
- Add as much water as is required to knead a stiff dough.
- Cook the dough for 5-6 minutes while stirring it with a ladle, because kneading the dough on flame gives better taste of Fara.

- Once the dough is kneaded, take small balls in your hands and roll them in the shape of fingers and keep them in a plate.
- Cook these rolled Fara in steam by placing water in a steamer or vessel. You can also cook it in idli pot.
- When the fara will be cooked in 5-10 minutes, turn off the flame and let it cool.
- Now keep a pan for heating and add oil in it and let it heat.
- When the oil becomes hot, add cumin, mustard and curry leaves and crackle.
- If you want, add tomatoes for spicy taste and cook it.
- When tomatoes are cooked, add fara and mix well and add finely chopped coriander and chilli and mix well.
- Hot Fara is ready to eat.
